Sled Dog Jack !

My name is Sled Dog Jack I was born August 3rd 1994 at Snow Country Kennel located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My owners name is Luke and he owns and operates a Dog Sled Touring business from his home. Now I was conceived from my father nugget and my mother Princess Di after the late princess Diana. Both my mother and my father where Luke's best lead dogs in his team so I guess he figured I would be an exceptional lead dog some day. Well let me tell you its been a long road to becoming the lead dog in a dog sled team. I came into this world as a tenacious little ball of fur wondering what I'm I doing here. My mother started licking me like I was some kind of lolly pop so I just stood there and let her do her motherly duties. I did forget to mention that I came into this world with yeh you guessed it three brothers and two sisters six of us in all.

Well the first couple of weeks were very boring I couldn't even see anything for like five or six days then this fuzzy image of a world I knew nothing about slowly came into view. It looked very odd yet some what interesting, but I still wasn't sure what it had in store for me. My mother was very beautiful she had a jet black coat of fur and rich brown eyes with a build that was like no athlete I ever saw. She truly was and athlete, she had run tours for Luke now for seven years and before that she ran some big races in Alaska, Minnesota and Michigan. My mother could still run some sixty miles in one day and be totally playful with the other dogs after dinner like nothing ever happened. She was slower then she use to be but still has lots of miles left to run. Every year Luke would chart our miles for the winter and my mother would get an average of 2200 miles in running through the forests. My mother loved to run the team she was such a born leader, she did everything she could to please Luke and the team. Now it was my turn to learn the ropes and try someday to shine like her.

Once my eyes where opened completely I began to venture out some away from mother. The world was my playground at least I thought it was. My brothers and sisters where like any other brothers and sisters they played with me tried to get more food than me fought with me and beat up on me at times, being a sled dog puppy is serious business you know. I was intimadated by all the adult dogs that were here in the kennel, there must have been at least seventy in all. It was one big family for the most part every one was pretty nice to me and some even played with me if I ventured over to there dog house. Luke was always out in the kennel working on things and he would never tolerate fighting amungst his family. Oh there were a few bullies in the kennel as there probably is in any community but for the most part I liked it here. Tongo always growled at me to let me know I should just keep moving on and not linger in his space for very long. Dash was always owly when it was dinner time he never let anyone around him when he was trying to enjoy his meal if you want to call enjoying a meal in three big gulps.
